I think Europe is a matter of common agreement. We do not need a common language to feel European. We all look at China as one country, yet China is equally if not more diverse as Europe. Unfortunately, Europe does not really exist. We have several Europes, several languages, etc. Some people have tried hard to build a common Europe, me included, but we are realizing this is driving us nowhere. European governments don't want a single europe. They want to be German, French, Spanish... There is only one solution: throw all politicians away and build a new (European) Government really grassroots and opened to every single European. Great post!
