Mobile phone wars are raging but geeks seem wary

June 24, 2008 by Nikos Anagnostou

While the big news today is the announcement of the Symbian acquisition by Nokia, what has caught my attention is an indirectly related, little conversation in Friendfeed.

Asks Steve Rubel :

Is anyone planning to wait on line July 11 for the new iPhone? Just curious.

Yes, I am curious too. More because I will be arriving in New York this very day and I thought of having a closer look in the first place.

But the answers are kinda disappointing.

  • Lots think it is better to wait.
  • Others say plainly no.
  • Competitive options are considered.

iPhone has all the hype but no more steam?
